Lucy Phillips' 'What Cannot be Seen' is due to be seen at De La Warr Pavilion as part of the season of 'A Nod to Cage'. Beautiful pin-hole photographs have been taken around the world. Inspired by the work of Sophie Calle, Lucy invites participants to share what cannot be seen as they make use of her pinhole cameras. Opening next week, on 19th May, her work will also be included as part of the events of Random Friday on 27th May.
Eastbourne Festival continues for a few more days - running until the end of the week, events, exhibitions and entertainment continue until 15th May. Highlights for the final weekend include 'After Dark at Redoubt' and Display Only presented by Dis-location.
Brighton Photo Festival is also running this weekend, with events and talks, exhibitors and suppliers. Running alongside Brighton Festival there will be a great deal to see.
Photoworks at Photomonth, Krakow can also be seen from tomorrow. Opening 13th May and running until 12th June, Poland's annual photo festival is curated by Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin.
Coming later in the year to De La Warr is work by Catherine Yass - a photographer and filmmaker shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 2002. Catherine's film 'Lighthouse' will be shown alongside Descent (2002) and Lock (2006) at DLWP from 25th June. 'Lighthouse' is of the Royal Sovereign Lighthouse, 5 miles out to sea and just visible from the pavilion.
