De La Warr Pavilion continues to show photographs and films by Catherine Yass - beautiful and hypnotic. A programme of talks can be found later in the summer and ongoing gallery events continue in response to the exhibition. The De La Warr has also started its summer programme of free live music on Sunday afternoons on the roof top beach, in addition to their live events and a forthcoming programme of outdoor showings of films including Jaws and The Fog. Cocktails are available at the bar with pedalos and deckchairs.
Nan Goldin's new work can be seen in the exhibition 'Fireleap' - photographs taken between 1972 and 2011 of children is reviewed in Time Out. Continues until 6th August at Sprovieri, 23 Heddon Street, London.
Time Out's critics choice is 'Watch Me Move: The Animation Show' at the Barbican Centre which runs until 11th September. It is a " major showcase of animated imagery by artists, filmmakers and industry pioneers from the last 150 years".
The Cult of Beauty ends this week, last day 17th July. The V&A exhibition is reviewed here. The South African photography show 'Figures and Fictions' also shows until 17th July.
The National Portrait Gallery's new exhibition 'Glamour of the Gods: Hollywood Portraits' has just opened, with photographs from the John Kobal Foundation.
Sean O'Hagan reviews Les Rencontres D'Arles 2011 in today's Observer. This high profile photography festival is "a disjointed affair this year, but its worth making the trip to see the stunning showcase of Mexican work".
For the Photographer's Gallery, 'Fresh Faced and Wild' is now available online to see the best of Graduate photography. In one of their offsite projects, Anders Peterson has been photographing in bars and cafes, homes and hotels of Soho, in order to present a very personal account of this part of London. He won the title 'Photographer of the Year' in 2002 at Les Rencontres D'Arles and was a finalist in 2007 for the Deutsche Borse Photography Prize.
