LONDON FESTIVAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED!

The 2012 festival will take place throughout June with a focus in King’s Cross, Bloomsbury and Fitzrovia.
EXHIBITION PROGRAMME INCLUDES:

  • The Great British Public Dog Eared Gallery, 1 to 24 JuneGroup show featuring: John Angerson, Peter Dench, Zed Nelson, Simon Roberts, and new work from Magnum photographers Chris Steele-­Perkins and Martin Parr… plus more to be announced.
  • The Gaddafi Archives: Libya before the Arab Spring 16 June to 15 July, Venue TBC
  • Let This Be a Sign, Simon Roberts Swiss Cottage Gallery, 23 May to 24 June
  • Beneath the Surface, Steve Bloom Guardian Gallery, 1 to 30 June 2012
  • London Photographs 1957­-62, Frederick Wilfred Museum of London, 16 June to 8 July
  • Money in Bamako and London British Museum, 1 to 30 June
  • Wasma Mansour: Single Saudi Women 1 to 30 June, Venue TBC
  • Firecracker: European Women Photographers 1 to 30 June, Venue TBC
EVENT PROGRAMME INCLUDES:

  • Masterclass and workshops with Jodi Bieber (2011 World Press Photo winner), Chris Steele-Perkins(Magnum), Peter Dench and Nick Turpin.
  • Symposium – Inside Out: Reflections on the Public and the Private A one-­day event reflecting on various interpretations of the festival theme.
  • A screening of Edward Burtynsky: Manufactured Landscapes a film by Jennifer Baichwal at Tate Modern
  • V&A lectures by Martin Barnes, Senior Curator & James Stevenson, Photography Manager

FESTIVAL PRIZE: DEADLINE EXTENDED

The London Festival of Photography Prize is a new opportunity for photographers to submit projects for inclusion in a world-class exhibition celebrating the annual festival theme. This year’s theme is INSIDE OUT: Reflections on the Public and the Private
There are two categories for submission:
• photo-series category (still images only)
• photo-film category (multimedia)
Finalists will appear in a major exhibition during the festival (Venue TBC, 1 to 30 June) and two winners will win £1,000 each and a trip to London for the opening. FIND OUT MORE

Spend the day with one of London’s best loved street photographers, exploring hidden parts of East London and discussing and improving your street photography.

Fall in love with London all over again as Peter leads you on a familiar wander around some of the capital’s grandest tourist spots, all the while injecting a fresh perspective into your shooting techniques. A traditional pub lunch plus drink is included each day.

London to Paris Workshop with Nick Turpin
Friday 15 – Sunday 17 June
Join Nick Turpin on a weekend workshop to Paris where you’ll learn how to improve your street photography at the hands of one of Britain’s top street photographers. Participants will spend two days exploring the streets of Paris and learning valuable street photography skills, with time for feedback, discussions and of course delicious food and wine. The price includes travel to and from Paris on the Eurostar and two nights accommodation.

If you are a freelance creative requiring desk space, Photofusion is offering 5 desks for hire on a monthly fee basis. Located in Photofusion’s studio premises inside Brixton Market, the desks are housed in a newly refurbished open plan room.
