In a change of programme, November's Photology speaker in Hastings is now Becky Beasley.
Becky Beasley, an artist who blurs the boundaries between photography & sculpture. Her work was featured this year in Tate Britain's “Art Now” exhibition programme and will be included in The Whitechapel Gallery's exhibition “Think Twice (Part 2: Viral Research)” opening in December 2012.
“Becky Beasley’s large hand-printed silver gelatin photographs bear the unevenness of their darkroom origins - her process is arrived at through experimentation and an unusually physical approach to darkroom printing. In around 2004, she began to design, fabricate and photograph her own objects instead of focusing on found motifs. Since this time she has developed her practice through a deep engagement with a series of literary works and, more recently, historical episodes.”
Monday 5th November, 8pm, Bullet Coffee House Hastings.
Val Williams has had to postpone & will now speak in early 2013.
